Final Fantasy 7 is the best game on the face of this forsaken mud-ball hellhole. It should be required gaming by every kid in the US (as I'm sure it is in Japan). Sure, now the graphics are outdated, but if thats' why you play a game, you should just watch your computer run any of the "3DMark" benchmarks. This game owns all the new ones in every way and Square should be ashamed that they every released this new shit (10, 10-2, 11) in the blinding goodness of 7. And Square-Enix loses BIG points in my book for EVER releasing that shit FF:Crystal Chronicles. That sucks more nut than a prostitute in Las Vegas on Christmas Eve.

I think that Square-Enix has kind of lost sight of their original values after the success of FFVII. They see everyone going crazy over graphics, so they try to stay as up to date on graphics. In fact, that's what they were hoping would sell Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. You can kind of see that they're trying to appeal cheaply with X-2 (and you can even see how little they paid attention to the first game when they created the script, too; Brother is Yuna's COUSIN, and he's lusting after her).

Have you played any of the older ones? Like the original, or FF4 (Japanese number, was originally 2 in the States)?

Yes actually. I played 3,5 and 6. I beat 5 and 6 but not three...yet. it's hard to find reliable ROM sites since Plasticman closed down, and so I can't find the ROMs for many of them without having to wade through bogus "voting" shits or porn advertisements. I will agree with you, but you did one thing wrong: you reminded me of Spirits Within. Goddamn, S-E is now almost worthless in my eyes. That movie is more crap than Crystal Chronicles (cuz I had to interact with CC).As a response to your Brother/Yuna deal: you have to remember that this is a Japanese game from Japan. Their values are a wee bit more.....liberal than the ideals in the US (thats where I am, and where I assume you to be). Dating your cousin or even lusting after him/her is bordering on normal. Hell, they have phallic celebration day, where people carry a huge pink penis around and people suck on penis lolipops and dress up in penis costumes. If you've ever watched anime, and then seen the unedited shit with all the sexual material and violence and cursing, that uncensored is what the Japanese children see (It's like our equivalent of Barney or Bob the Builder).

Ah, for some reason I thought that was something they just didn't notice. It's probably because I expected that they would have censored it somewhat in the conversion. But, I'm glad they didn't censor anything with it, since I like to play my games with as much true to them still as possible.

Never heard of it. I play first person shooters (half life 2 kicks ass, doom 3 sucks it) and real time strategies like dune (emperor battle for dune is the best I reckon). Basically I only like a game when I'm killing shit. I love building a massive army in dune and then stomping someone's nuts with it.

Gunblades actually used to exist, just not in the same capacity as they did in FFVIII. It was nothing more than a way to make carrying a gun and a sword/knife more easily.

my friend loaned me ff7 for computer...it just didn't hold my attention. I'd try ff8 but I wouldn't buy it. I heard ffx is the best and ffx-2 sucks.

When it comes to the "best Final Fantasy game", anyone who tries to make one game sound like it's irrefutably the best game in the series is an idiot. Everyone has a different opinion of which one is "the best". Most seem to like FFVII, my favorite is FFIV, etc. The only opinion of the series most people can agree on is that FFX-2 sucks balls. Horribly.

There are 2 Final Fantasy Tactics games. The one you're talking about is actually called Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance. There's another one that I'm betting is the one you're thinking of, Final Fantasy Tactics for Playstation (yes, they are completely different games). The only reason I suggest that the Playstation one is probably the one you're thinking of is that it's the one people have talked about the most.
